What a truly wonderful evening of fellowship we enjoyed at The Worshipful Company of Fuellers New Year Court and Burns Night Dinner at the stunning Tallow Chandlers Hall.
We were privileged to have Rennie Hoare, Partner and Head of Philanthropy at C. Hoare & Co. as our Principal Speaker.
His thought-provoking address reminded us of the profound importance of hashtag#sustainability as a manifestation of careful hashtag#stewardship. Guided by the simple yet powerful principle of being “Good Bankers and Good Citizens,” their work serves as a shining example of aligning values with impact—an idea central to our theme this year hashtag#FuellingTheFuture.
The evening was further enriched by the traditions of hashtag#BurnsNight:
James Fairbairn, President of The Burns Club of London and Judy Tayler-Smith, BA PGDip FSAScot, Deacon of The Incorporation of Wrights in Glasgow delivered heartfelt toasts to the Immortal Memory, to the Lasses, and to the Laddies.
Jonathan and Sharon Glen brought spirit and charm with the Address to the Haggis and the Selkirk Grace.
A special thanks to Liveryman Piping Fueller Colin Malam, whose stirring bagpipe performance filled the room with energy and pride, and to violinist Dave McAllister, whose musical interludes added a magical touch to the evening.
And let’s not forget our Junior Warden, Louise Croucher who introduced our guests with such grace and charm that even seasoned orators might take notes!
As Master, I also took a moment to extend heartfelt thanks to all the consorts for their unwavering support—not just on the evening but throughout the year.
Thank you to all who joined us and contributed to making the evening truly memorable.
