JUNIOR OFFICERS COMPLETE AIR ENGINEERING SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT COURSE AT HMS SULTAN.JUNIOR WARDEN, LOUISE THOMPSON PRESENTS AWARDS SPONSORED BY THE FUELLERS CHARITABLE TRUST

Just before Christmas Junior Warden Louise Thompson travelled down to HMS Sultan, part of the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering in Gosport where Junior Officers from the Air Engineering Systems Engineering and Management Course (SEMC(AE)), AE SEMC 23-001, had completed their training within the Defence College of Technical Training’s Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival Equipment School.

The SEMC(AE) for Graduate Officers is designed to prepare junior Air Engineer Officers for their first complement appointment in the Fleet Air Arm, training and educating them to:

  • Administer an Air Engineering Department, ensuring that all maintenance and support tasks are met effectively.
  • Direct the maintenance and support of all engineering equipment and systems in their charge.
  • Organise, train, and manage the officers, senior and junior ratings of their department who are in their charge.

She was honoured to present Sub Lieutenant Claire Weetman with the Overall Contribution award that is sponsored by the Fuellers Charitable Trust as well as the top Academic award to Lieutenant Laurence Helmore.
The Junior Officers will now join squadrons supporting Merlin, Wildcat and F-35's at RAF Marham, RNAS Culdrose and RNAS Yeovilton.
We wish them all the best for the future.
