Dear Members and Energy Professionals,

I hope this mail finds you well.

A change in Government, a pending budget where energy is expected to feature strongly and 2030 looming ever near, the Energy Sector is certainly living in “interesting times”

With the ongoing challenges facing us all and the reduced requirement to work within an office environment, there has never been a greater need to meet face to face with peers and colleagues.

Strong Membership Levels and Attendances for EIC lunches in 2023/24 more than confirmed the desire of Members and Guests to exchange views with others and to listen to the thoughts of senior representatives within the Energy space. The Energy Industries Club remains unique in offering Members the opportunity to network and host over lunch with a wide range of stakeholders.

President-elect Laurence Carpanini is busy assembling a strong Speaker line-up for the upcoming 2024/25 Season with 2024 dates already confirmed as follows:

16th October 2024       Professor Paul Monks (Chief Scientific Advisor) DESNZ

27th November 2024 Laura Fleming (CEO) Hitachi Energy

18th December 2024   Jonathan Brearley (CEO) Ofgem

Further details will be posted on the club website www.energyindustriesclub.org

The Season will open on Wednesday 16th October, with the Calling Notice issued in mid-September.

Membership Fees are £50.00 and although a modest increase over the last 5 years still probably represents the best value you’ll achieve this year in the Energy Sector, given the quality of the Speakers, the diversity of attendees and the fact that many lunches will be Members Only events.

Lunch Meetings will again be held at the Army & Navy Club (The RAG) 36 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5JN and we are delighted to confirm that lunch prices will be maintained at £85.00 for 2024.

I attach a Membership Application/Renewal form, and am required to draw your attention to the Privacy Statement included within the form.

Feel free to forward a copy of the Membership Form to a friend or colleague who you believe would benefit from Club Membership

Payment as usual can be made by Bank Transfer or Cheque.

Membership Renewal has never been easier, if your contact details are unchanged from last year, there is no need to submit a new form, payment of the Membership Fee will confirm acceptance of the Club’s Privacy Statement. Simply transfer £50.00 (or £135.00 if you wish to include the price of the first lunch) to the EIC Account as follows:

Account Number: 00544376

Sort Code: 30-95-41

I look forward to seeing you all in the year ahead.

All the best

Bill

P.S As announced last year, I am looking to step down as Honorary Secretary and would be delighted to hand over to any existing or previous Club Member willing to take over what is an exceptionally rewarding and enjoyable role. Feel free to contact me if interested.
